Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to visit and learn a little more about me. I’m a Winnipeg photographer and mama to nine amazing kiddos! I grew up in Winnipeg and moved to Quebec for a couple of years, but being a prairie girl at heart I came back home to Manitoba.
I met the love of my life in 1998 and we got married 2002, we have nine children (and yes they are all mine!). To say that I understand the challenges of photographing children would be an understatement. 😅
Looking at and taking photos has always been important to me. My father was a photography enthusiast so it has been a part of my life since before I can remember. I still remember him developing his own film in the darkroom in our old basement! At 11 years old I begged my parents for a camera and my father gave me a Polaroid, it was so futuristic back then (instant pictures in the ’80s!) and I had so much fun with it! When I had my first baby my parents gifted me a film camera so that I could capture all her precious first moments and as the years went on I continued taking many photos of our growing family, these are my most prized possessions!
I love photographing in natural settings where everyone can relax and enjoy the moment. This can be outside in a location I’ve chosen or a special place to you such as a park, beach, or even your home. My style is pure, organic, simple, and timeless. My goal is to capture your family’s personalities, quirks, smiles, and pure love for one another.
When I’m not behind the camera or editing images at my computer, you can find me having a tea party with my little ones, sewing on my vintage 1890s sewing machine, or baking treats for my kids (ok sometimes they’re for me..).
THINGS I’VE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS…
1. Babies don’t keep. With nine of my own, no one knows this more than I do! ðŸ˜
2. The only thing that comes close to saving the most precious little details is to freeze them in time in the form of a photograph.
3. Sessions with me are stress-free, I will help you look your best while capturing your family in a meaningful way!
4. The best time to take beautiful images of your family is now! If you wait for the perfect moment you will miss out. Unfortunately, I know this from experience, as a young mom, professional photos always seemed less important than other things, but it’s the one thing I truly wish I had more of.
Annie 🙂
